Left over excitement

  The other day I made two stuffed chickens for dinner. Mmm...

To my surprise only one fed my family of six that night. So tonight I am using the meat from my leftover chicken to make a new recipe I found on Pinterest tonight. Chicken and Dumpling casserole. I shredded my chicken up and began this recipe. Melted 1/4 cup of unsalted butter and poured it into a 9x13 baking dish. Covered that with my chicken.

 Next I mixed in a bowl 1 cup flour,1 cup milk,1 & 1/4 tsp baking powder and 1/4 tsp.salt. Poured that over the chicken.( don't mix). 

 Next I mixed together can of chicken broth with a can of cream of chicken. Poured that on top of the floured mixture. (Don't mix).

 I than put it into a preheated oven of 400 degrees and it said to bake 35 to 45 minutes. 

In my oven it took 50 minutes. I almost was getting worried.

 I was able to get two casseroles out of my one chicken. That's what I call getting the most out of your food without waste! Lol.

 I got thinking and remembered I had some gravy leftover as well. 

I heated it up and added it to my dish. Wow! I am in love with this recipe.😋

A sweet sixteen party gone great!

My sons sweet sixteen birthday was coming and I was so lost on what to do for his party. He doesn't ask for much and loves doing stuff with his family. There are a lot of us ; so to go out and do stuff would cost a bunch. So I spent two hours on Pinterest trying to create some kind of great birthday he would enjoy and remember. I know he is a real Xbox fan so that's what theme I used. Decorating,baking,and gifts were no problem; but what do I do for an activity that would go for a sixteen year old?

I thought what goes with an Xbox theme? Shooting! Lol . It's hot outside and we are outside cooking out. But water guns,would that be fun for him? It would be if I could jazz it up! Pinterest came through for me once again . I found a pin that showed how to add color to the water and would be safe. It was easy to clean up. So we had a great time putting on white T-shirts and having a colored water gun fight.

I also search Pinterest for a cake to make. I always make ice cream cakes because that's what my family likes better then cake. I found one that I really liked that had a controller on hit. But how could I do something like that ? I thought and thought. Than I got an idea! What if I trace one on paper than cut it out to place on cake and cut out it from the cake? Would that work? Yes! It did. 

Here is what the cake and food table looked like. I love the punch I made. Lime soda and lime sherbet.

Everyone enjoyed the day,even Dad! Haha ,it was such a blessing.

My son was pleased with his day I got so many hugs and I love yous through the day. This mom was satisfied!
